And (speaking of Facebook) really it seems to me Facebook has become a place where you go to #1 - play games, #2 - share little memes that you find amusing, #3 - become extraordinarily annoyed by what other people post or what they comment on your posts. Now I'm USUALLY a pretty "live and let live" kinda girl. I do not care if you're a democrat or a republican, a catholic or an atheist, don't care if you eat deep fried junk or health food. Whatever makes you happy (so long as it doesn't affect me) ... do it. Whatever, I don't care how you live your life. It's not my job to save you or educate you or try to make you a better person. HOWEVER ... what truly annoys me are those people who think that the way THEY live is right above all other things (and I hate this even if I live my life the same way).
For instance, I'm catholic (let's just put that out there). I find these posts equally annoying:
Post #1: Yo, christians are idiots man. Science has disproved the theory of God so many times. I mean what kind of a moron continues to believe this when there's cold, hard proof.
Post #2: Jesus saves. If you have not taken Jesus as your own personal savior you must do so NOW or you will burn in hell for an eternity.
The first, tells me I'm an idiot because I have faith in something I can't see or touch or feel. Mind you, the same people who post things like that - I know a few that actually celebrate Christmas (can you give me a big W-T-F?). Plus, since when do Christians have the cornerstone on God? Last time I checked the Jews believed in God too .. and the Muslims, so it's also an ignorant statement.
The second tells me what I need to do and is actually quite threatening.
I also love those people who do the "my body is a temple and I won't put junk in it" thing ... like I care what they put in their body. But don't tell me what to put in mine or we'll have issues. Perhaps I worship the temple of cheetos ... I mean come on ... I eat all fresh veggies (well, my peas are from a can, tried fresh peas once, didn't feel they were worth the cost), I eat meat (sometimes it's free range ... but free range actually makes me feel kind of bad ... I think free range animals have a better quality of life therefor they probably WANT to live whereas the regular slaughter house animals probably look forward to death since they don't have much to live for) (before anyone comments something rude and nasty about animal cruelty that was a joke ... kind of one of those ironic, sarcastic witty things - take a chill pill). Anyway, to get back on track (I will get off track quite often I'm afraid) some Paleo people are the worst! A strong proponent of Paleo told me we have to live like our ancestors lived (notice the "have to" in there ... can you say "shoving your agenda down my throat??). Plus ... Ummmmmm ... didn't our ancestors die young??? I mean they're talking about hunting and gathering and whatnot ... only eating things you can pick or catch ... all natural, nothing processed. How far back into my ancestry am I going?

Because the average life expectancy in the 1800s in a developed nation was 35!! It didn't go above 50
until 1920 ... and it didn't go above 60 until 1960(ish) which is probably right around when they started processing food (when did The Rolling Stones release "Mother's Little Helper" because they mention making box mix cakes in that song!). But I am not a cave man - I'm not a hunter and gatherer. But more importantly, organic, free range, raw unpasteurized milk ... those things are hard to find and expensive. Oh, but don't tell that to my Paleo person because (and I'm actually quoting here) the answer will be "you can pay for organic now or you can pay your doctor bills later, but either way you're spending that money" ... Bitch please ... I have insurance.
Now don't get all up in arms because you think I'm dissing the organic - I'm NOT. I actually do buy organic sometimes. Mostly the fruits and veggies. Milk is $2 more per gallon, so I'll only buy organic if it's on sale. I have NOTHING against organic but it's just not feasible for every single person on this planet to go totally organic. I'm mostly opposed to giving up any and all processed foods and foods with wheat/gluten in them ... I have 3 kids. If I can't open up a can of Chef Boyrdee every once in a while I might shoot myself.
My next favorite people on FB are the ones that tell me how to raise my children. I post a picture of them in the tub (I have 2 girls and a boy) and someone calls me ON THE PHONE and tells me it's inappropriate that I'm bathing my children all together. I ... have ... no ... words ... and I don't wish to "defend" my bathing them all at once, but I was RIGHT THERE the whole time, my kids were fairly little at the time - maybe 5, 6 and 6 months ... there was no funny business - there was just shampoo, bubble and good old fashioned laughter. And if I post any type of bad behavior on FB I'm sure to get a ton of comments on how the bad behavior of the children is actually MY FAULT (some would maybe blame the aforementioned Chef Boyrdee I'm sure) because I don't discipline them enough or I spoil them or I ate fish when I was pregnant. But the worst is the advice ... and my favorite is "take away the TV". Are you out of your ever loving mind? Who are you punishing - the kid or me????
Sigh ... I'm about out of time for today, but after looking back over all this, I think maybe I should get off Facebook - ha ha ha.
